Doug has been in franchisor development and sales for more than 20 years. Having co-founded Rhino7 in 1999, he has an extensive background in:

Doug graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering with a concentration in marketing. He grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and now resides in Cary, North Carolina. He is married to Kris Schadle and has two children, Joe and Alexandra (Alex).

In addition to starting several successful companies (including Rhino7), John has held top-level positions in franchise sales in large organizations. He has also been extensively involved in the training and John is a franchise industry veteran of more than 15 years. He has held positions ranging from entrepreneur to senior level executive, all of which has given him a unique insight and perspective in building, operating and growing successful brands. In 1999 he co-founded Rhino7 to assist franchise start-ups, as well as existing franchises, to develop and grow their brands.

In addition to starting several successful companies, John has held top-level positions in franchise sales in large organizations. He has also been extensively involved in the training and professional development of franchise consultants for more than 10 years.

Rita has been the Operations Director and Franchise Coordinator for Rhino7 for 20+ years. Her primary responsibility is to keep procedures and policies running smoothly for all aspects of the franchising process. She relates and works closely with franchisors, consultant networks, prospective franchisees, and the office staff to give them the support needed to make their experience with Rhino7 pleasant and productive.

Rita wears many hats while also handling IT support and accounts receivable/payable. She manages and creates territory mapping for franchisors to help them grow throughout the U.S.

Rita has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a master’s in Curriculum & Instruction. Before starting in the franchising industry, she was an elementary school teacher for 11 years. She enjoys travel, horseback riding, hiking, yoga, and spending time with her family and friends in her leisure time.

Joe has been working with Rhino 7 for years. Joe grew up in a franchise household where his father, Doug, was constantly working with him on the world of franchising.

Joe graduated from Western Carolina University, where he majored in Entrepreneurship. In his time away from the office, Joe lives in Raleigh, NC, where he enjoys anything to do with cars, playing adult league hockey, or Canadian fishing.

Jim is an expert in the small business franchising industry. In the last 32 years, he’s introduced and grown 18 different franchise brands from start-ups into national systems with 1,600+ new units coast-to-coast.

Jim has assisted small business owners in expanding their empires and diversifying their investments. When those business owners were ready to realize their salable assets, he’s coached them on how to sell & maximize their results. He has been involved in the sale of well over 300+ established small medical, hospitality, and retail franchise businesses.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Stout, with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Jim managed food & beverage operations and national account convention sales for the next 7 years for Marriott Corp in the Mid-West and South-West region.

Jim has a long-standing passion for helping entrepreneurs to build income and grow equity for their retirement and generational wealth.

Born & raised in the Western Metro of Minneapolis, MN, Jim and spouse Shelly are now “empty-nesters” residing in Cary, NC.

After working in various administrative positions, Drew joined Rhino 7 as part of the Operations team.  Originally born in Iowa, she moved to Texas at a young age. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

After graduating, Drew moved to North Carolina with Peaches, her rescue dog. She enjoys dance, painting, traveling, and going to thrift stores in her leisure time.

Kristen came to Rhino7 with a diverse background in sales, management, and animal handling. Originally from Maine, she graduated from St. Andrews University, located in Laurinburg, NC, with a B.A in Business Management. While new to the franchise industry, her work experience includes outside sales, dog training, marketing, transportation, and logistics. Notably, she is an Army veteran and loved living in South Korea during her service.

As a single mother, Kristen spends her limited free time relaxing with her two tuxedo cats, Oliver and Ladybug. A nerd at heart, she loves sci-fi, fantasy, board games, and PC gaming. Kristen is very passionate about mental health awareness and is currently writing her memoir in an effort to help others who are struggling. She currently resides in Holly Springs, NC with her son, William.

Kevin is starting his career in franchising after his recent graduation from The University of North Carolina Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/ Management and Leadership with an earned cum laude distinction. Because of his family background in management and franchising, Rhino 7 is the perfect home for Kevin to strive in the workforce. Kevin is originally from Tampa, FL but moved to North Carolina in 2007.

He recently rescued a kitten and a ball python, his only pets. Kevin loves to play video games outside of work and is an EDM DJ who plays dubstep music.

Max grew up in southern New Jersey right outside of Philadelphia. He graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in finance. While at school Max played as a member on the rugby team for Hofstra. After graduation Max moved to Raleigh, North Carolina where he joined the Rhino 7 team as a broker relations and operational assistant. 

In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym and spending time outside in the North Carolina sun. 

Summer Jennings has worked in creative communications for marketing in multiple channels such as digital, print, SEO, social media, and inbound marketing, amongst others. Her professional passion is to visually communicate a message for the user (internal or external) a design that is easy to understand, fully informative, and all with a pleasing aesthetic. She graduated from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY with a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Art and Design. 

Born and raised in South Jersey, Summer lived in Upstate NY for several years and now resides in the NC Research Triangle. She considers herself a modern renaissance woman and loves to spend her free time rollerblading, painting, hiking, thrifting, picking bouquets of wildflowers off the side of the road, longboarding, and rock climbing. 

Kelly joined Rhino 7 after leading the Construction Department of one of the country’s fastest-growing franchises. Before joining the franchising industry, she served as a logistics officer in the US Army. Kelly holds dual master’s degrees in Forestry and Environmental Management.

She enjoys reading, outdoor fitness, traveling to new places, and puzzles of all sorts.

Devin joins Rhino7 with a background in commercial construction, where he worked with one of the Nation’s largest general contractors in a diverse client market. Devin graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Building Sciences specializing in construction management. While Attending App State, he helped the football team win four Sunbelt conference championships. Originally from Florida, he now resides in Raleigh, NC, where he enjoys being physically active outdoors and exploring with his rescue dog, Vail.

In 2014, Jeremy started commercial construction with a company whose projects ranged from restaurants to large-scale healthcare facilities. He continued working for this company for two years before venturing out on his own to focus on custom luxury residential homes. In 2011, he graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and now resides in Carmel, IN. When he isn’t hard at work or relaxing at home with his fiancé, Kenna, or their two dogs – Sawyer & Sully – Jeremy enjoys traveling abroad or just spending time outdoors, skiing, or hiking around the city.

Kaleigh joins Rhino7 with a background in construction project management in multiple disciplines, including project management experience with one of the nation’s top general contractors. Kaleigh completed her degree at Mississippi State University in Building Science and hoped to inspire young girls to pursue careers in construction. Kaleigh is a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars and the American Legion, in which she has held multiple executive positions. You can find Kaleigh training for her pilot’s license or hanging out with her Great Pyrenees named Grinchy in her free time.

Erica brings several years of franchise development/construction experience to the team. 

She has a background from Kennesaw State University in Accounting and worked for an AEC firm for many years. In the last six years of Erica’s career, she worked with startups building storage facilities and a portfolio for a beauty industry franchise growing from 12 open and operational centers to 82. She also enjoys the outdoors with her family. 

Zach brings several years of franchise development experience to the Rhino7 team. Before finding his passion of helping entrepreneurs find their dream through franchising, Zach spent 6 years in the Financial industry. 

Zach graduated from St. Leo University in Tampa, FL , where he majored in Business Management. When not in the office, Zach can usually be found amongst friends and family at tailgates and stadiums. Avid sports fan. Zach lives in Tampa, FL, where his 3 beautiful children keep him busy. 

Matthew has spent nearly a decade in the franchise industry, developing startup and legacy food and service-based brands, both domestically and internationally. His vast experience in development, real estate and operations on the franchisor and franchisee side allows him to truly understand the needs and wants of entrepreneurs. He has a passion for helping people make their business ownership dreams come true.  

 Matthew resides in Central Pennsylvania along with his wife, four children and dog. He enjoys time with his family and sports.

Angie brings over 18 years of franchising experience to Rhino7. She has been a franchise owner helping coach and match individuals into business ownership. As VP of Sales, she has awarded over 200 franchises in the food, service, fitness, and beauty industries. Before franchising, she spent 18 years as a corporate leader in the Fashion Industries. She holds a BS Degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC.
Angie lives in NY with her husband and teenage son. Our passions are skiing, golf, scouting, and many volunteer efforts through our church.

Terrance brings several years of franchise development experience to the Rhino7 team. Before finding his passion of helping entrepreneurs find their dream through franchising, Terrance spent 10+ years in the non-profit sector. He was an Executive Director for two organizations. One of the organizations he helped build from the ground up.

Terrance graduated from Brockport State College, in Rochester, NY. When not in the office, Terrance can usually be found amongst friends and family in Buffalo, NY. Terrance is an avid Buffalo sports fan as well as a high school basketball coach. He has three children and two grand-children.

Tom brings a unique perspective to the franchise industry. He previously held CEO, COO, and other senior executive positions in marketing, sales, and finance. His specialty was to assist companies in turn-around situations or to help departments of companies increase overall productivity. His broad-based experiences helped him consistently create winning results.

Some of Tom’s previous positions and experiences include:

  • President of CFS Financial Services, regional financial planning, and investment firm
  • Founder and President of The Walden Institute, an executive management, consulting, and coaching company
  • Founder and President of Vequity Corporation, an Internet advertising company that utilized a Patent-Pending business model
  • Senior VP for Sonsio, Inc., the largest U.S. and Canadian Warranty Administration Company for Tires, Wheels, and Auto Repairs

As a seasoned executive, entrepreneur, and business coach, Tom can assist potential franchise business owners with the critical due diligence process related to starting a business and choosing the best fit for their talents, skills, and ambitions.

Tom lives in Denver and enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathy, and their large family. He is also actively engaged with his church, where he works extensively with young single adults.

Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Max graduated from Virginia Tech and went into broadcast sales and management but was always an entrepreneur at heart. In 1997, he started a sales and marketing consultancy with clients ranging from top ten market radio broadcasting groups to 100 + location franchisors, ranging from restaurants to fitness and beauty. During that period, he also purchased and operated several franchises. Working both on the franchisor and franchisee side of business, he saw a need to be filled helping would be entrepreneurs realize their dreams of business ownership. So he started Smart Franchise Finders in 2011. Through Smart Franchise Finders, hundreds of entrepreneurs have discovered new opportunities, started new businesses, and achieved the dream of working for themselves.

Max has been an entrepreneur for 25 years and continues to enjoy helping entrepreneurs find the right business. He splits his time between the Annapolis, Maryland area and southern Florida, where he enjoys boating and the outdoors.  

With over ten years’ experience with service-based businesses and start-ups, Laura is passionate about helping buyers find the right product for their needs. A true student of sales, she studies strategy and technique, and has coached many to become better sales people. She even enjoys cold-calling and prospecting!


A native of Guatemala City, she grew up in South Carolina. Laura has always enjoyed setting seemingly-impossible goals — and often reaching or exceeding them. Ten years after moving to America and learning English, she graduated top of her class at university and was valedictorian, a feat she attributes to the mental discipline honed by committing to volunteering hundreds of hours to charities while a struggling student. 


Her free time is spent learning, averaging fifty-two books per year. She lives with her family in Raleigh, NC and often travels to fun and exciting locales where her Wire Fox Terrier pup Jackie plays frisbee.

Mark has been in the franchising industry for over 35 years. He worked at a printing and sign franchise early in his career and then went into business for himself in the embroidery, screen printing and promotional products industry in the 1990’s. In 2001, he franchised the business and over the next 16 years grew the system to 350 locations worldwide.

Since selling that company, he helped a commercial cleaning franchise grow from 20 master territories to over 70 in the last 5 years.

Mark is married to his better half, Leslie, and has 3 grown children. He and his wife live in Tyler, Texas.

Mike has spent nearly 20 years in franchising.  He started his career in franchising in finance where he helped new franchisees secure capital for their new venture.  Over the last 20 years Mike has been involved in the automotive, health and wellness, home and commercial services and taxes and accounting franchise space.  In addition to helping new entrepreneurs find the right franchise he also helped many existing business owners diverse their portfolio through franchise ownership.  

Mike and his family currently live in Lancaster, PA but grew up and plans to head back to the Philadelphia area in the near future to be closer to family.  In addition to helping people become business owners, Mike is also passionate about travel, restaurants, music and live comedy!
